Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar guided India comfortable innings and 25-run victory over England and clinch the four-match series with 3-1 to make ICC World Test Championship final in a one-sided game of the fourth Test match.

  • Ravichandran Ashwin's 5 for 47 was his fifth best bowling figures for India against England in Test matches.
  • Ravichandran Ashwin's 5 for 47 was his 30th 5-wicket haul or more wickets for India in Test matches and the joint sixth in the list of most five-wicket haul or more wickets in Tests, jointly with England's James Anderson.
  • Axar Patel's 5 for 48 was his fourth best bowling figures for India in Test matches and also his fourth best bowling figures against England in Tests.
  • Ravichandran Ashwin took 32-wickets in this series - the most wickets for India in a bilateral four-match Test series and the fourth in the list of most-wickets in a bilateral 4-match Test series.
  • England's 135 was their ninth lowest score against India in Test matches and It is their fifth worst total in Indian soil in Tests.
  • 23 : Virat Kohli became the most wins as captain at home in Test matches, surpassing the previous record of 22 wins by Australia's Steve Waugh in 29-matches.

* Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin's combined 7-wickets restricted England to 205 before India 24 for 1 on opening day of the fourth Test match.

* Rishabh Pant's scintillating century and Washington Sundar's unbeaten half-century helped to India takes 89-run lead in the day 2 of the fourth Test match.




England 1st Innings scored 205 for all-out in 75.5 overs with top scorer by Ben Stokes 55, Dan Lawrence 46, Ollie Pope 29 and Jonny Bairstow 28.

1st Innings India best bowler by Axar Patel claimed a 4-wickets for 68-runs in 26-overs including seven maidens, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3-wickets, Mohammed Siraj took 2-wickets and one for Washington Sundar.

India 1st Innings scored 365 for all-out in 114.4 overs with top scorer by Rishabh Pant 101 off 118-balls - which was his 3rd Test hundred and his second century against England in Tests - including 13-fours & 2-sixes.

Washington Sundar 96 not out, Rohit Sharma 49 - who fell one-run short of his half-century - including 7-fours, Axar Patel 43, Ajinkya Rahane 27 and Cheteshwar Pujara 17.

1st Innings England best bowler by Ben Stokes claimed a 4-wickets for 89-runs in 27.4-overs including six maidens, James Anderson picked up 3-wickets and Jack Leach took 2-wickets.

England 2nd Innings scored 135 for all-out in 54.5 overs with top scorer by Dan Lawrence 50, Joe Root 30 and Ollie Pope 15.

2nd Innings India best bowler by Ravichandran Ashwin claimed a 5-wicket haul for 47-runs in 22.5-overs including four maidens.

Axar Patel claimed a 5-wicket haul for 48-runs in 24-overs including 6-maidens.

Rishabh Pant named Player of the match for his scintillating 101-runs knocked off facing 118-balls including 13-fours and 2-sixes.

Ravichandran Ashwin earned player of the series for claiming a 32-wickets in the 4-match Test series.
