Devon Conway's 52-ball 92* and Will Young's debut fifty before Ish Sodhi and Lockie Ferguson's combined 6-wickets helped to New Zealand massive 66-run victory over Bangladesh and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

  • Ish Sodhi's 4 for 28 was his join best bowling performance for New Zealand in T20 international and the best bowling figures by an New Zealand bowler against Bangladesh in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 3 for 6 held by Daniel Vettori at same venue in 2010.

New Zealand scored 210-3 in 20 overs with top scorer by Devon Conway 92 not out off 52-balls.

Debutant Will Young hammered a 53 off 30-balls including 4-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 176.67, Martin Guptill hit 35 off 27-balls included 3-fours & 2-sixes and Glenn Phillips blasted a unbeaten 24 off 10-balls including 3-fours & a six with strike-rate of 240.

Bangladesh best bowler by Debutant Nasum Ahmed - who takes 2-wickets on his debut T20I match and Mahedi Hasan took one-wicket.

Bangladesh scored 144-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Afif Hossain struck 45 off 33-balls including 5-fours & a six.

Mohammad Saifuddin scored a run-a-ball unbeaten 34-runs including 3-fours & a six and Mohammad Naim hammered a 27 off 18-balls included 5-fours with strike rate of 150.

New Zealand best bowler by Ish Sodhi claimed a 4-wickets for 28-runs in 4-overs, Lockie Ferguson took 2-wickets and one for Hamish Bennett - Tim Southee.

Devon Conway named Player of the match for his  quick-fire unbeaten 92-runs knocked off facing 52-balls including 11-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 176.92.
