Glenn Phillips' unbeaten rapid half-century and Daryl Mitchell's quick-fire unbeaten 34 before Bowlers attack helped to New Zealand cruising to via DLS method 28-run victory over Bangladesh, despite a Soumya Sarkar's 26-ball fifty and took an unbeatable 2-0 lead to seal the series in a rain-truncated game of the second T20I.

  • Glenn Phillips hammered a 27-ball his second fastest fifty for New Zealand in T20 international and the fourth fastest fifty by an New Zealand batsman against Bangladesh in T20Is.
  • Soumya Sarkar hammered a 25-ball fourth fastest fifty for Bangladesh in. T20 international and the fastest fifty by an Bangladesh batsman against New Zealand in T20Is.

New Zealand scored 173-5 in 17.5 overs with top scorer by Glenn Phillips 58 not out, Daryl Mitchell hammered a unbeaten 34 off 16-balls including 6-fours with strike rate of 212.50, Martin Guptill 21, Finn Allen 17 and Devon Conway 15.

Bangladesh best bowler by Mahedi Hasan took 2-wickets, Shoriful Islam, Mohammed Saifuddin and Taskin Ahmed each took one-wickets.

Bangladesh scored 142-7 in 16-overs - due to rain revised target of 171 in 16 overs - with top scorer by Soumya Sarkar hammered a 51 off 27-balls including 5-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 188.89.

Mohammad Naim struck 38 off 35-balls including 4-fours and Mahmudullah hit 21 off 12-balls included 4-fours with strike rate of 174.

New Zealand best bowler by Tim Southee, Hamish Bennett, Adam Milne each took 2-wickets and one for Glenn Phillips.

Glenn Phillips named Player of the match for his rapid unbeaten 58-runs knocked off facing 31-balls including 5-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 187.10.
