Najmul Hossain Shanto's 163 and Mominul Haque's 127 helped to Bangladesh reach a formidable position in the day 2 of the first Test match.

Bangladesh set the massive total of 541 before Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne's half-century helped to Sri Lanka 227 for lost three wickets in the day 3 of the first Test match.

Dimuth Karunaratne's double-century and Dhananjaya de Silva's century helped to Sri Lanka reach 500 in the day 4 of the first Test match.

* Dimuth Karunaratne's 244 was the third highest score by a Sri Lankan captain in Test matches and the highest-score by a Sri Lankan captain against Bangladesh in Tests, surpassing the previous record of 166 held by Mahela Jayawardene at Dhaka in 2008.

Bangladesh's 541 was their sixth highest score in Test matches and It is their second highest total against Sri Lanka in Tests.

* Sri Lanka's 648 was their seventh highest score in Test matches and It is their third highest total against Bangladesh in Tests.

* 144 : Tamim Iqbal and Najmul Hossain Shanto set up the second highest second-wicket partnership for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka in Test matches and Bangladesh's seventh highest second-wicket stand in Tests.

* 242 : Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque set up the record third-wicket partnership for Bangladesh in Test matches, previously held by the 236-run stand between Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim against same opponent at Chattogram in 2018 and Bangladesh's fifth highest any-wicket stand in Tests.

* 114 : Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thrimanne set up the fourth highest first-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in Test matches.

* 345 : Dimuth Karunaratne and Dhananjaya de Silva set up the record fourth-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in Test matches, previously held by the 196-run stand between Kusal Mendis and Asela Gunaratne at Galle in 2017, It is Sri Lanka's second highest fourth-wicket stand in Tests and Sri Lanka sixth highest any-wicket stand in Tests.

Bangladesh 1st Innings scored 541-7 declared in 173 overs with top scorer by Najmul Hossain Shanto 163 off 378-balls - which was his 1st Test hundred - including 17-fours & a six.

Sri Lanka 1st Innings scored 648-8 declared  in 179-overs with top scorer by Dimuth Karunaratne 244 off 437-balls - which was his 1st Test double-hundred - including 26-fours.

Dhananjaya de Silva 166 off 291-balls - which was his 7th Test hundred and his third century against Bangladesh in Tests.

Lahiru Thirimanne 58, Wanindu Hasaranga 43, Niroshan Dickwella 31, Angelo Mathews 25, Suranga Lakmal 22 not out and Oshada Fernando 20.

1st Innings Bangladesh best bowler by Taskin Ahmed picked up 3-wickets, Taijul Islam took 2-wickets and one for Ebadot Hossain - Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Bangladesh 2nd Innings scored 100-2 in 33 overs with top scorer by Tamim Iqbal 74 not out and Mominul Haque 23 not out.
