* Devon Conway became the second New Zealand batsman to score a double-hundred on debut Test match after Mathew Sinclair's 214 against West Indies at Wellington in 1999 and overall the seventh player in Tests.

* Devon Conway's 200 was the second-highest score for New Zealand on debut Test match after Mathew Sinclair's 214 and the seventh highest-score by a batsman on debut Test match.

* Devon Conway's 200 was the highest score by a debutant in England in Test cricket history, surpassing the previous record of unbeaten 163 held by Ranji against Australia at Manchester in 1896.

* Tim Southee's 6 for 43 was his second best bowling figures for New Zealand in Test matches after his 7 for 64 and the fifth best bowling figures by an New Zealand bowler against England in Tests.

* Tim Southee's 6 for 43 was his 12th five-wicket haul or more wickets for New Zealand in Test matches.
