All-round display from Shakib Al Hasan and Nasum Ahmed's four-for helped to Bangladesh seal a their historic first T20I win over Australia by 23-runs and take a 1-0 lead in a low-scoring game of the first T20 international.

  • Bangladesh's 131 was their lowest highest score against Australia in T20 internationals.
  • Bangladesh's total of 131 for 7 is the lowest that they have successfully defended in T20 internationals, eclipsing their previous lowest of 133 against UAE at same venue in the 2016 Asia Cup.
  • This is the first time Australia have failed to chase down a target below 140 in a full 20-over game. The previous lowest target they could not chase in a T20I was 143 against New Zealand at Dharamsala in the 2016 World Twenty20.

  • Mitchell Starc became the first Australian bowler to complete 50 wickets in T20 international cricket history.

Bangladesh scored 131-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Shakib Al Hasan scored 36 off 33-balls including 3-fours.

Mohammad Naim scored 30 off 29-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours, Afif Hossain 23 and Mahmudullah 20.

Australia best bowler by Josh Hazlewood picked up 3-wickets for 24-runs in 4-overs, Mitchell Starc took 2-wickets and one for Andrew Tye - Adam Zampa.

Australia scored 128 for all-out in 20 overs with top scorer by Mitchell Marsh cracked a run-a-ball 45-runs including 4-fours & a six, Mitchell Starc 14 and Matthew Wade 13.

Bangladesh best bowler by Nasum Ahmed 4-19, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam both took 2-wickets and one for Mahedi Hasan - Shakib Al Hasan.

Nasum Ahmed named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to claimed a career-best 4-wicket for 19-runs in 4-overs.
