Three-wicket hauls from Tabraiz Shamsi and Aiden Markram before An unbeaten half-century from Quinton de Kock steers to South Africa's record nine-wicket victory over Sri Lanka and took an unbeatable 2-0 lead to seal the series in a one-sided game of the second T20I.

  • South Africa's 9-wicket win was their joint second largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in T20 international, it is their 4th time win by nine wickets and first time South Africa had defeated Sri Lanka by nin wickets in T20Is.
  • Sri Lanka's 103 was their joint lowest score against South Africain T20 international, jointly with their 103 for 9 at same venue in 2013 and It is their joint third lowest-total at their home venue in T20Is.
  • South Africa chased 104 was their fourth lowest successful run-chase in T20 international and It is their lowest chase against Sri Lanka in T20Is.
  • 62 : Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks set up the second highest first-wicket partnership for South Africa against Sri Lanka in T20 internationals.
  • Sri Lanka lost their last seven wickets for just 32-runs - which was their joint fourth worst seven-wicket collapse in T20 international and it is their worst 7-wicket collapse against South Africa in T20Is. They went from 71 for 3 to 103 for all out.
  • Their previous worst such collapse was seven for 42-runs against South Africa at Delhi in the 2016 World Twenty20.

Sri Lanka scored 103 for all-out in 18.1 overs with top scorer by Kusal Perera struck 30 off 25-balls including 2-fours & a six.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa blasted a 20 off 13-balls including 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 153.84 and Charith Asalanka 14.

South Africa best bowler by Tabraiz Shamsi 3-20, Aiden Markram picked up 3-wickets for 21-runs in 4-overs including a maiden.

Bjorn Fortuin took 2-wickets and one for Anrich Nortje - Keshav Maharaj.

South Africa chased 105-1 in 14.1 overs with top scorer by Quinton de Kock cracked a unbeaten 58 off 48-balls including 7-fours, Aiden Markram 21 not out and Reeza Hendricks 18.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Wanindu Hasaranga took 1-wicket for 22-runs in 4-overs.

Tabraiz Shamsi named Player of the match for his brilliant spin bowling performance to picked up 3-wickets for 20-runs in 4-overs.
