Maheesh Theekshana's three-for, Lahiru Kumara and Wanindu Hasaranga each two wickets before Avishka Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa steers Sri Lanka registered their historic first T20I win against Namibia by 7-wickets in a one-sided game of the first round fourth match of a T20 World Cup.

  • Namibia's 96 was their joint lowest score in T20 internationals, jointly their 96 against Netherlands at ICCA Dubai in 2019.
  • Sri Lanka chased 97 was their fifth lowest successful run-chase in T20 internationals.

Namibia scored 96 for all-out in 19.3 overs with top scorer by Craig Williams 29, Gerhard Erasmus 20 and JJ Smit 12 not out.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Maheesh Theekshana 3-25, Lahiru Kumara takes 2-wickets for 9-runs in 3.3-overs, Wanindu Hasaranga took 2-wickets and one for Chamika Karunaratne - Dushmantha Chameera.

Sri Lanka chased 100-3 in 13.3 overs with top scorer by Bhanuka Rajapaksa blasted a unbeaten 42 off 27-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 155.55.

Avishka Fernando scored a unbeaten 30 off 28-balls including 2-sixes and Kusal Perera 11.

Maheesh Theekshana named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to picked up 3-wickets for 25-runs in 4-overs.
