KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma's blazing half-centuries, power-hitting knocks from Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya before Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin's combined 5-wickets helped to India's record 66-run victory over Afghanistan, despite a late assault from Karim Janat's 22-ball 42* and keep their campaign alive in the 33rd match of a T20 World Cup.

  • India's 66-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs against Afghanistan in T20 international, previously they won by 23-runs at Colombo (RPS) in the 2012 World Twenty20 and It is their third biggest win in T20 World Cups.
  • India's 210 was their eighth highest score in T20 international, It is their highest-score ever against Afghanistan in T20 international, previous highest was 159 at Colombo (RPS) in the 2012 World Twenty20 and India's second highest total in T20 World Cups.
  • 140 : KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma set up the record first-wicket partnership for India against Afghanistan in T20 international, previously held by the 19-run stand between Gautam Gambhir and Murali Vijay at Gros Islet in the 2010 World Twenty20, It is India's fourth highest opening stand in T20Is, It is the India's highest first-wicket partnership in T20 World Cup, previously held by the 136-run stand between Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag against England at Durban in the inaugural 2007 World Twenty20 and the fourth highest opening stand in T20 World Cups.
  • 63* : Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya set up the record third-wicket partnership for India against Afghanistan in T20 international, previously held by the 55-run stand between Murali Vijay and Yuvraj Singh at Gros Islet in the 2010 World Twenty20 and India's joint fourth highest third-wicket stand in T20 World Cups, jointly 63-run stand held by between Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh against Pakistan at Johannesburg in the inaugural 2007 World Twenty20 final.
  • Afghanistan's 144 was their highest score against India in T20 international, previous highest was 136 at Colombo (RPS) in the 2012 World Twenty20 and Afghanistan's ninth highest total in T20 World Cups.

India scored 210-2 in 20 overs with top scorer by Rohit Sharma 74, KL Rahul blasted a 69 off 48-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 143.75.

Hardik Pandya hammered a unbeaten 35 off 13-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 269.23 and Rishabh Pant cracked a unbeaten 27 off 13-balls included 3-sixes & a four with strike rate of 207.69.

Afghanistan best bowler by Karim Janat and Gulbadin Naib both took one-wickets.

Afghanistan scored 144-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Karim Janat hammered a unbeaten 42 off 22-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 190.90.

Mohammad Nabi scored 35 off 32-balls including 2-fours & a six, Rahmanullah Gurbaz 19 and Gulbadin Naib 18.

India best bowler by Mohammed Shami picked up 3-wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin took 2-wickets and one for Ravindra Jadeja - Jasprit Bumrah.

Rohit Sharma named Player of the match for his quick-fire 74-runs knocked off facing 47-balls including 8-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 157.44.
