Axar Patel's 5 for 62 was his fifth best bowling performance for India in Test matches. Shreyas Iyer became the seventh Indian No.5 batsman to score fifties in both innings of a Test match. Shreyas Iyer became the seventh Indian player to win the Man-of-the-match award on debut Test match. 419 : Ravichandran Ashwin became the third leading wicket-taker for India in Test matches after Anil Kumble (619) and Kapil Dev (434). Shreyas Iyer became the third Indian batsman to score fifties or more runs in both innings on debut Test match after Dilawar Hussain and Sunil Gavaskar.

India 1st Innings scored 345 for all-out in 111.1 overs with top scorer by Debutant Shreyas Iyer - who hit 105 off 171-balls on his debut Test match - which was his 1st Test hundred - including 13-fours & 2-sixes.

Shubman Gill cracked a 52 off 93-balls including 5-fours & a six, Ravindra Jadeja struck 50 off 112-balls included 6-fours.

Ravichandran Ashwin cracked hit 38 off 56-balls including 5-fours, Ajinkya Rahane struck 35 off 63-balls included 6-fours and Cheteshwar Pujara scored 26 off 88-balls contained two boundaries.

1st Innings New Zealand best bowler by Tim Southee claimed a 5-wicket haul for 69-runs in 27.4-overs including six maidens, Kyle Jamieson picked up 3-wickets and Ajaz Patel took 2-wickets.

New Zealand 1st Innings scored 296 for all-out in 142.3 overs with top scorer by Tom Latham cracked a 95 off 282-balls - who fell five-run short of his century - including 15-fours.

Will Young struck 89 off 214-balls including 15-fours, Kyle Jamieson scored 23 off 75-balls included a boundary and Kane Williamson hit 18 off 64-balls contained two boundaries.

1st Innings India best bowler by Axar Patel claimed a 5-wicket haul for 62-runs in 34-overs including six maidens, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3-wickets and one for Umesh Yadav - Ravindra Jadeja.

India 2nd Innings scored 234-7 for declared in 81 overs with top scorer by Shreyas Iyer struck 65 off 125-balls including 8-fours & a six.

Wriddhiman Saha cracked a unbeaten 61 off 126-balls including 4-fours & a six, Ravichandran Ashwin struck 32 off 62-balls included 5-fours.

Axar Patel hit a unbeaten 28 off 67-balls included 2-fours & a six, Cheteshwar Pujara cracked a 22 off 33-balls included 3-fours and Mayank Agarwal scored 17 off 53-balls contained 3-fours.

2nd Innings New Zealand best bowler by Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee both picked up 3-wickets and one for Ajaz Patel.

New Zealand 2nd Innings scored 165-9 in 98 overs with top scorer by Tom Latham cracked a 52 off 146-balls including three boundaries.

William Somerville cracked a 36 off 110-balls including 5-fours, Kane Williamson scored 24 off 112-balls included three boundaries and Rachin Ravindra hit a unbeaten 18 off 91-balls contained 2-fours.

2nd Innings India best bowler by Ravindra Jadeja claimed a 4-wickets for 40-runs in 28-overs including ten maidens, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3-wickets for 35-runs in 30-overs including 12-maidens and Axar Patel - Umesh Yadav.

Shreyas Iyer named Player of the match for his brilliant debut batting performance to scored a 170-runs in an match.
