Magnificent Majid Khan's historic fastest century sets up to Pakistan registered their historic first-ever ODI win over England by seven-wickets, despite a maiden century from David Lloyd and take a 1-0 lead in a rain-shortened 50-over match of the first ODI.

  • Majid Khan hammered a 88-ball fastest century in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 96-ball hundred held by Ken Wadsworth against Australia at Christchurch in 1974.
  • Majid Khan became the first Pakistan batsman to score a hundred in One-day international cricket history and overall the fifth player in ODIs.
  • David Lloyd became the second England batsman to score a hundred in One-day internationals after Dennis Amiss' two centuries and overall the fourth player in ODIs.

England scored 244-4 in 50 overs - match reduced 55 to 50 overs per a side after the start had been delayed ninety minutes by morning rain - with top scorer by David Lloyd scored a career-best unbeaten 116 off 159-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred - including 8-fours & a six.

Chris Old cracked a 39 off 31-balls including 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 125.80, Mike Denness scored 32 off 49-balls included 2-fours and John Edrich 18.

Pakistan best bowler by Majid Khan, Asif Iqbal, Sarfraz Nawaz and Intikhab Alam each took one-wickets.

Pakistan chased 246-3 in 42.5 overs with top scorer by 109 off 93-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred.

Sadiq Mohammad struck 41 off 52-balls including 6-fours, Zaheer Abbas hit 31 off 51-balls included 3-fours, Asif Iqbal 24 not out and Mushtaq Mohammad 24 not out.

England best bowler by Derek Underwood, Bob Willis and Peter Lever each took one-wickets.

Majid Khan named Player of the match for his match-winning career-best blistering 109-runs knocked off facing 93-balls including 16-fours and a six with strike rate of 117.20.
