Mayank Agarwal, Mohammed Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin helped to India's record 372-run victory over New Zealand, despite a Ajaz Patel's historic ten-wicket haul and clinch the two-match series with 1-0 in the second Test match.

Match Stats : India's 372-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs in Test cricket history, previous biggest win by 337-runs against South Africa at Delhi in 2015. New Zealand's 372-run defeat was their worst by margin of runs in Test cricket history, previous biggest margin of defeat was 358 against South Africa at Johannesburg in 2007. Ajaz Patel became the third bowler to claimed all 10-wickets in an innings in Test cricket history after Jim Laker and Anil Kumble. Ajaz Patel became the first New Zealand bowler to take all 10-wickets in an Innings in Test cricket history. Ajaz Patel's 10 for 119 was the best bowling figures by a left-arm spinner in Test cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 9 for 127 held by Rangana Herath against Pakistan at Colombo (RPS) in 2014. New Zealand's 62 was their sixth lowest score in Test matches and It is their worst total against India in Tests, previous lowest was 94 at Hamilton in 2002. Ajaz Patel's 14 for 225 was the best match figures by any bowler against India in Test matches, surpassing the previous record of 13 for 106 held by Ian Bothan at Mumbai in 1980. Virat Kohli became the first player to win 50 international wins in each format of the game.
