Half-centuries from senior pro Najibullah Zadran, Debutant Riaz Hassan and Rahmat Shah's superb 48 before Debutant Qais Ahmad and Rashid Khan's combined 5-wickets helped to Afghanistan domineering 75-run victory over Netherlands, despite a half-centuries from Scott Edwards - Colin Ackerman and clinch the their historic first 3-0 whitewash against Netherlands in the third ODI.

Match Stats : 
  • Afghanistan's 75-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs against Netherlands in One-day internationals, previous biggest win by 48-runs at same venue in this series' second ODI.
  • This is the second time Afghanistan have whitewashed their oppositions in a bilateral three-match series in One-day international and their first against Netherlands in ODIs.
  • This is the first time Netherlands have suffered a clean sweep in a bilateral three-match series in One-day internationals.
  • Afghanistan's 254 was their second highest score against Netherlands in One-day internationals.
  • Netherlands' 179 was their lowest score in the completed innings against Afghanistan in One-day internationals, previous lowest was 186 at same venue in this series' first ODI.
  • 103 : Scott Edwards and Colin Ackerman set up the record first-wicket partnership for Netherlands against Afghanistan in One-day international, previously held by the 49-run stand between Stephan Myburgh and Michael Swart at Sharjah in 2012 and Netherlands' third highest opening stand in ODIs.
  • Netherlands lost their last eight wickets for just 56-runs - which was their third worst eight-wicket collapse in One-day international and it is their worst 8-wicket collapse against Afghanistan in ODIs. They went from 123 for 2 to 179 for all out.
  • Their previous worst such collapse was eight for 64-runs against Afghanistan at same venue in this series second ODI.
  • Riaz Hassan became the sixth Afghanistan batsman to score a fifty or more runs on debut ODI match.

* Netherlands penalised with a 5-run penalty by the umpires for ball-tampering. The penalty was handed down in the 31st over, bowled by Brandon Glover.


Afghanistan scored 254-5 in 50 overs with top scorer by Najibullah Zadran 71, Debutant Riaz Hassan - who scored 50 off 75-balls on his debut ODI match - including 3-fours & a six.

Rahmat Shah 48 off 81-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century - including 3-fours & 2-sixes, Hashmatullah Shahidi 28 and Azmatullah Omarzai 15 not out.

Netherlands best bowler by Saqib Zulfiqar, Aryan Dutt, Vivian Kingma each took one-wickets and Debutant Clayton Floyd - who took 1-wicket on his debut ODI match.

Netherlands scored 179 for all-out in 42.4 overs with top scorer by Colin Ackerman struck 81 off 96-balls including 7-fours & 2-sixes.

Scott Edwards scored 54 off 74-balls including 5-fours & a six and Saqib Zulfiqar 13.

Afghanistan best bowler by Debutant Qais Ahmad - who picked up 3-wickets for 32-runs in 7.4-overs on his debut ODI match, Rashid Khan captured 2-wickets.

Azmatullah Omarzai, Fareed Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rahman each took one-wickets and Debutant Fazalhaq Farooqi - who took 1-wicket on his debut ODI match.

Najibullah Zadran named Player of the match for his blazing 71-runs knocked off facing 59-balls including 8-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 120.33.

Scott Edwards earned player of the series for contributing 208-runs in the three-match ODI series.
