Seventies from Pathun Nissanka, Dinesh Chandimal and Charith Asalanka guided Sri Lanka convincing five-wicket victory over Zimbabwe, despite a brilliant century from Sean Williams and take a 1-0 lead in a high-scoring game of the first ODI.

Zimbabwe scored 296-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Sean Williams hammered a 100 off 87-balls - which was his 5th ODI hundred & his first century against Sri Lanka in ODIs - including 9-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 114.94.

Regis Chakabva cracked a 72 off 81-balls including 6-fours & a six, Debutant Takudzwanashe Kaitano - who scored 42 off 50-balls including 7-fours, Wesley Madhevere 20 and Sikandar Raza 18.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Chamika Karunaratne picked up 3-wickets, Jaffrey Vandersay, Nuwan Pradeep both took 2-wickets and Kamindu Mendis took one-wicket.

Sri Lanka chased 300-5 in 48.3 overs with top scorer by Pathum Nissanka struck 75 off 71-balls including 10-fours, Dinesh Chandimal 75.

Charith Asalanka cracked a 71 off 68-balls included 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 104.41, Kusal Mendis hit 26 off 24-balls including 6-fours and Kamindu Mendis 17.

Zimbabwe best bowler by Richard Ngarava picked up 3-wickets and one for Sikandar Raza - Blessing Muzarabani.
