An another brilliant batting display from Viv Richards' 97 before Andy Roberts' four-wicket haul and Clive Lloyd's match turning two wickets helped to West Indies comprehensive 36-run victory over England, despite a stunning batting display from Debutant Derek Randall's 88 and took an unbeatable 2-0 lead to seal the series in a reserved day used, rain-affected second ODI.

- West Indies' 36-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs in One-day internationals, previously they won by 17-runs against Australia at same venue in the inaugural 1975 World Cup final.
- This is the first-ever reserved day used match in One-day international cricket history.
- Andy Roberts's 4 for 27 was the joint second best bowling figures for West Indies in One-day international, It is the best bowling figures by an West Indies bowler against England in ODIs, surpassing the his own record of 4 for 32 at Scarborough in this series first ODI and the joint seventh best ODI figures, jointly with Geoff Arnold and Bernard Julien.
