Shamarh Brooks's debut 93, Kieron Pollard's half-century, Odean Smith's debut all-round display, Three-wicket hauls from Romario Shepherd and Alzarri Joseph helped to West Indies hard-fought 24-run victory over Ireland and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

  • West Indies' 24-run win was their smallest victory by terms of runs against Ireland in One-day internationals, previous narrowest win by 44 at Mohali in the 2011 World Cup.
  • West Indies' 269 was their fifth highest score against Ireland in One-day internationals.
  • Shamarh Brooks' 93 was the second highest score by an West Indies batsman on debut ODI match after Desmond Haynes' 148.
  • Ireland's 245 was their third highest score against West Indies in One-day internationals.
  • 155 ; Shamarh Brooks and Kieron Pollard set up the record fifth-wicket partnership for West Indies against Ireland in One-day international, previously held by the 75-run stand between Jonathan Carter and Jason Holder at Dublin (Malahide) in 2019, It is the record fifth-wicket stand at Sabina Park in ODIs, previously held by the 95-run stand between Richie Richardson and Gus Logie against Australia in 1991.

West Indies scored 269 for all-out in 48.5 overs with top scorer by Debutant Shamarh Brooks blasted a 93 off 89-balls - who fell seven-run short of century on his debut ODI match - including 9-fours & 3-sixes.


Kieron Pollard struck 69 off 66-balls including 4-sixes & 4-fours, Shai Hope 29 and Debutant Oden Smith - who hammered a 18 off 8-balls on his debut ODI match - included 2-sixes & a four with strike rate of 225.

Ireland best bowler by Mark Adair picked up 3-wickets for 38-runs in 8.5-overs including a maiden, Craig Young takes 3-wickets, Andy McBrine took 2-wickets and one for Josh Little - Curtis Campher.

Ireland scored 245 for all-out in 49.1 overs with top scorer by Andy Balbirnie struck 71 off 94-balls including 7-fours & a six.

Harry Tector scored 53 off 68-balls including 5-fours & a six, George Docrell blasted a 30 off 25-balls included 2-fours & a six and Mark Adair hammered a unbeaten 21 off 9-balls including 3-sixes with strike rate of 233.33.

West Indies best bowler by Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph both picked up 3-wickets, Debutant Odean Smith - who took 2-wickets on his debut ODI match, Jason Holder and Akeal Hossain both took 2-wickets.

Shamarh Brooks named Player of the match for his excellent debut innings of 93 off 89-balls including 9-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 104.49.
