An record unbeaten 174-run stand for the seventh-wicket between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Afif Hossain leads to Bangladesh stunning four-wicket victory over Afghanistan, despite a Fazalhaq Farooqi's four-for and take a 1-0 lead in a tight-game of the first ODI.

  • Bangladesh chased 216 was their fifth highest successful run-chase at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in One-day internationals.
  • Bangladesh lost their top six batsmen wickets for just 45-runs - which was their fifth worst six-wicket collapse in One-day international and it is their worst first 6-wicket collapse against Afghanistan in ODIs. Their previous worst such collapse was six for 90-runs against Afghanistan at Abu Dhabi in 2018.
  • 174 : Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz set up the record seventh-wicket partnership for Bangladesh in T20 international, previously held by the 127-run stand between Imrul Kayes and Mohammad Saifuddin against Zimbabwe at Mirpur in 2018 and Bangladesh's joint eighth highest any-wicket stand in ODIs, jointly 174-run stand for the fourth-wicket held by between Anamul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim against West Indies at Khulna in 2012.
  • Afghanistan's 215 was their fourth lowest score in the completed innings against Bangladesh in One-day internationals.

Afghanistan scored 215 for all-out in 49.1 overs with top scorer by Najibullah Zadran struck 67 off 84-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes.

Rahmat Shah scored 34 off 69-balls including 3-fours, Hashmatullah Shahidi hit 28 off 43-balls included 3-fours & a six, Mohammad Nabi 20, Ibrahim Zadran 19 and Gulbadin Naib 17.

Bangladesh best bowler by Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Shakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed each took 2-wickets and one for Mahmudullah.

Bangladesh 45-6 to chased 219-6 in 48.5 overs with top scorer by Afif Hossain scored a unbeaten 93 off 115-balls including 11-fours & a six, Mehidy Hasan Miraz 81 not out and Shakib Al Hasan 10.

Afghanistan best bowler by Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 54-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman both took one-wickets.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz named Player of the match for his match-winning magnificent career-best unbeaten 81-runs knocked off facing 120-balls including 9-fours.
