Superb bowling display from Chamika Karunaratne, Dunith Wellalage and Dhananjaya de Silva guided Sri Lanka cruising to via DLS method 26-run victory over Australia and level the series with 1-1 after Australia lose 5 for 9 in a rain-truncated game of the second ODI.

  • Sri Lanka's 26-run win was their sixth smallest victory by terms of runs against Australia in One-day internationals.
  • Sri Lanka's 220 was their third lowest score against Australia at Pallekele in One-day internationals.
  • Australia's 189 was their fourth lowest score against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka soil in One-day internationals.
  • Australia lost their last five wickets for just 19-runs - which was their joint second worst last five-wicket collapse against Sri Lanka in One-day international. They went from 170 for 5 to 189 for all out.

Sri Lanka scored 220-9 in 47.4 overs with top scorer by Kusal Mendis struck 36 off 41-balls including 2-fours & a six.

Dasun Shanaka cracked a 34 off 36-balls including 5-fours, Dhananjaya de Silva scored 34 off 41-balls included 2-fours & a six, Dunith Wellalage 20, Chamika Karunaratne 18 and Danushka Gunathilanka 18.

Australia best bowler by Pat Cummins claimed a 4-wickets for 35-runs in 8.4-overs, Glenn Maxwell takes 2-wickets, Debutant Matthew Kuhnemann - who took 2-wickets on his debut ODI match and Mitchell Swepson took one-wicket.

Australia scored 189 for all-out in 37.1 overs - due to rain revised target of 216 from 43-overs - with top scorer by David Warner cracked a 37 off 51-balls including 5-fours.

Glenn Maxwell struck 30 off 25-balls including 5-fours with strike rate of 120, Steven Smith 28, Travis Head 23, Marnus Labuschagne 18 and Alex Carey 15.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Chamika Karunaratne 3-47, Dushmantha Chameera, Dunith Wellalage and Dhananjaya de Silva each took 2-wickets.

Chamika Karunaratne named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to picked up 3-wickets for 47-runs in 7-overs and produced a run-out.
