Jeffrey Vandersay's three-wickets before An record-breaking maiden century from Pathum Nissanka and a well-made Innings from Kusal Mendis' 87 helped to Sri Lanka's record six-wicket victory over Australia and take a  2-1 lead in a high-scoring game of the third ODI.

  • Sri Lanka chased 292 was their highest successful run-chase against Australia in One-day internationals, previous highest chase was 281 at Hobart in 2012.
  • Australia's 291 was their second highest score in Sri Lankan soil in One-day internationals.
  • Pathum Nissanka's 137 was his highest score for Sri Lanka in One-day international and the highest-score by an Sri Lankan batsman against Australia in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 122 held by Sanath Jayasuriya at Sydney in 2003.
  • 170* : Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis set up the record second-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against Australia in One-day international, previously held by the 163-run stand between Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara at Sydney in 2006.

Australia scored 291-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Travis Head hit a unbeaten 70 off 65-balls including 3-sixes & 3-fours.

Aaron Finch cracked a 62 off 85-balls including 4-fours & a six, Alex Carey 49 off 52-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century - including 3-fours & a six.

Glenn Maxwell blasted a 33 off 18-balls including 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 183.33, Marnus Labuschagne 29 and Cameron Green 15 not out.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Jeffrey Vandersay picked up 3-wickets, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dushmantha Chameera and Dunith Wellalage each took one-wickets.

Sri Lanka chased 292-4 in 48.3 overs with top scorer by Pathum Nissanka 137 off 147-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred, Kusal Mendis retired hurt for 87 off 85-balls including 8-fours.

Dhananjaya de Silva hammered a 25 off 17-balls including 4-fours and Niroshan Dickwella 25.

Australia best bowler by Jhye Richardson took 2-wickets and one for Glenn Maxwell - Josh Hazlewood.

Pathum Nissanka named Player of the match for his match-winning batting performance to scored a career-best 137-runs knocked off facing 147-balls including 11-fours and 2-sixes.
