Charith Asalanka's maiden century before Captain Dasun Shanaka holds nerve as Sri Lanka pulled off a thrilling 4-run victory over Australia, despite a David Warner's masterclass 99 and take a 3-1 lead to seal the series in a nail-biter game of the fourth ODI.

Match Stats : 
  • Sri Lanka's 4-run win was their joint seventh smallest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and It is their second narrowest win against Australia in ODIs after their 1-run win at Dambulla in 2004.
  • Sri Lanka registered their first bilateral ODI series win against Australia at home after 30 years.
  • David Warner became the third Australian player to dismissed on 99 in One-day internationals after Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist.

Sri Lanka scored 258 for all-out in 49 overs with top scorer by Charith Asalanka 110 off 106-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred.

Dhananjaya de Silva struck 60 off 61-balls including 7-fours, Wanindu Hasaranga 21 not out and Dunith Wellalage 19.

Australia best bowler by Mitchell Marsh, Pat Cummins, Matthew Kuhnemann each took 2-wickets and one for Glenn Maxwell.

Australia scored 254 for all-out in exact 50 overs with top scorer by David Warner 99 off 112-balls - who fell one-run short of his century - including 12-fours.

Pat Cummins struck 35 off 43-balls including 2-fours, Travis Head hit 27 off 33-balls included 3-fours, Mitchell Marsh scored 26 off 27-balls including 3-fours & a six and Alex Carey 19.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Chamika Karunaratne, Dhananjaya de Silva, Jeffrey Vandersay each took 2-wickets, Dasun Shanaka, Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga each took one-wickets.

Charith Asalanka named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a career-best 110-runs knocked off facing 106-balls including 10-fours and a six.
