UAE's 79-run defeat was their third worst by margin of runs in T20 international and It is their biggest defeat in a T20 World Cup, previously they lost by 21-runs against Ireland at Sylhet in the 2014 World Twenty20. Sri Lanka's 152 was their highest score against UAE in T20 international, previously they scored 129 at Mirpur in the 2016 Asia Cup. Pathum Nissanka's 74 was his second highest score for Sri Lanka in T20 international and the highest-score by an Sri Lankan batsman against UAE in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 50 held by Dinesh Chandimal at Mirpur in 2016. Karthik Meiyappan became the first UAE bowler to claimed a hat-trick in T20 international cricket history and overall the 34th player in T20Is. Karthik Meiyappan became the fifth bowler to registered a T20I hat-trick in T20 World Cup after Brett Lee, Curtis Campher, Wanindu Hasaranga and Kagiso Rabada. UAE's 73 was their joint lowest score in T20 international, jointly their 73 against Netherlands at ICCA Dubai in 2016. Wanindu Hasaranga's economy rate of 2.00 was the joint second best economical bowling performance for Sri Lanka in a full spell in T20 internationals, jointly with Angelo Mathews - Ajantha Mendis and the Sri Lanka's joint best economical-bowling performance in a T20 World Cup, jointly with Ajantha Mendis' economy rate of 2.00 against Zimbabwe at Hambantota in the 2012 World Twenty20.

Sri Lanka scored 152-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Pathum Nissanka struck 74 off 60-balls.

Dhananjaya De Silva hammered a 33 off 21-balls including 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 157.14 and Kusal Mendis scored 18 off 13-balls included 2-fours.

UAE best bowler by Karthik Meiyappan picked up 3-wickets for 19-runs in 4-overs, Zahoor Khan took 2-wickets and one for Aayan Afzal Khan - Aryan Lakra.

UAE scored 73 for all-out in 17.1 overs with top scorer by Aayan Afzal Khan scored 19 off 21-balls including a boundary.

Junaid Siddique scored 18 off 16-balls including one-six & a four and Chirag Suri hit 14 off 19-balls included three boundaries.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Wanindu Hasaranga picked up 3-wickets for 8-runs in 4-overs including a maiden.

Dushmantha Chameera took 3-wickets for 15-runs in 3.5-overs, Maheesh Theekshana takes 2-wickets and one for Dasun Shanaka - Pramod Madushan.

Pathum Nissanka named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a 74-runs knocked off facing 60-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes.
