Tom Latham's career-best 145* and Captain Kane Williamson's classy 94* steers to New Zealand emphatic seven-wicket victory over India, despite a top-order batsmen Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer's fifties and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

  • New Zealand chased 307 was their joint sixth highest successful run-chase in One-day international and It is their second highest successful run-chase against India in ODIs after they chased 348 at Hamilton in 2020.
  • India's 306 was their joint ninth highest score against New Zealand in One-day international and It is their second highest total at Eden Park in ODIs after their 314 against same opponent in 2014.
  • 124 : Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill set up the ninth highest first-wicket partnership for India against New Zealand in One-day internationals.
  • 94 : Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson set up the fifth highest fifth-wicket partnership for India against New Zealand in ODIs.
  • 221* : Kane Williamson and Tom Latham set up the record fourth-wicket partnership for New Zealand in One-day international, previously held by the 200-run stand between Ross Taylor and Tom Latham against same opponent at Wankhede Stadium in 2017 and also the New Zealand's highest any-wicket stand against India in ODIs. 

India scored 306-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Shreyas Iyer struck 80 off 76-balls including 4-sixes & 4-fours.

Shikhar Dhawan scored 72 off 77-balls including 13-fours, Shubman Gill cracked a 50 off 65-balls included 3-sixes & a four.

Washington Sundar hammered a unbeaten 37 off 16-balls including 3-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 231.25, Sanju Samson scored 36 off 38-balls included 4-fours and Rishabh Pant 15.

New Zealand best bowler by Lockie Ferguson picked up 3-wickets for 59-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Tim Southee took 3-wickets and one for Adam Milne.

New Zealand chased 309-3 in 47.1 overs with top scorer by Tom Latham hammered a unbeaten 145 off 104-balls - which was his 7th ODI hundred & his second century against India in ODIs.

Kane Williamson cracked a unbeaten 94 off 98-balls including 7-fours & a six, Devon Conway scored 24 off 42-balls included 3-fours and Finn Allen hit 22 off 25-balls including 2-fours & a six.

India best bowler by Debutant Umran Malik - who took 2-wickets on his debut ODI match and Shardul Thakur took one-wicket.

Tom Latham named Player of the match for his match-winning batting performance to smashed a career-best unbeaten 145-runs knocked off facing 104-balls including 19-fours and 5-sixes with strike rate of 139.42.
