Ravichandran Ashwin, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli guided India drawn the match against Australia and clinch the four-match series with 2-1 to qualify for the ICC WTC final in the fourth Test match.

  • 113 : Ravichandran Ashwin became the leading wicket-taker for India against Australia in Test cricket history, surpassing the previous the Anil Kumble's 111-wickets record and the list of seventh leading wicket-taker against Australia in Tests.
  • Virat Kohli became the fifth Indian player to reach 4000 Test runs in home venue after Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag.
  • 8 : Virat Kohli equalled a joint second most 150+ scores hit in home venue in Test matches , jointly with Virender Sehwag.
  • 14 : Virat Kohli hit the fourth most centuries in home venue matches in Test cricket after Sachin Tendulkar 22, Sunil Gavaskar 16 and Rahul Dravid 15.
  • Virat Kohli became the second player to hit 75 centuries in international cricket history after Sachin Tendulkar's 100-hundreds.
  • 8 : Virat Kohli equalled a joint second most centuries hit against Australia in Test matches, jointly with Sunil Gavaskar.

Australia 1st Innings scored 480 for all-out in 167.2 overs with top scorer by Usman Khawaja cracked a 180 off 422-balls - which was his 14th Test hundred & his first century against India in Tests - including 21-fours.

Cameron Green blasted a 114 off 170-balls - which was his 1st Test hundred - including 18-fours.

Todd Murphy struck 41 off 61-balls including 5-fours, Steve Smith scored 38 off 135-balls included 3-fours.

Nathan Lyon scored 34 off 96-balls included 6-fours and Travis Head hit 32 off 44-balls included 7-fours.

1st Innings Innings India best bowler by Ravichandran Ashwin claimed a 6-wicket haul for 91-runs in 47.2-overs including 15-maidens, Mohammed Shami took 2-wickets and one for Axar Patel - Ravindra Jadeja.

India 1st Innings scored 571 for all-out in 178.5 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli struck 186 off 364-balls - which was his 28th Test hundred & his eighth century against Australia in Tests - including 15-fours.

Shubman Gill cracked a 128 off 235-balls - which was his 2nd Test hundred & his first century against Australia in Tests - including 12-fours & a six.

Axar Patel blasted a 79 off 113-balls including 5-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 69.71, Srikar Bharat struck 44 off 88-balls included 3-sixes & 2-fours.

Cheteshwar Pujara hit 42 off 121-balls including 5-fours, Rohit Sharma struck 35 off 58-balls included 3-fours & a six and Ravindra Jadeja scored 28 off 84-balls including 2-fours & a six.

1st Innings Australia best bowler by Todd Murphy, Nathan Lyon both picked up 3-wickets and one for Matthew Kuhnemann - Mitchell Starc.

Australia 2nd Innings scored 175-2 for declared in 78.1 overs with top scorer by Travis Head hit 90 off 163-balls - who fell ten-run short of his century - including 10-fours & 2-sixes.

Marnus Labuschagne scored a unbeaten 63 off 213-balls including 7-fours and Steve Smith 10 not out.

2nd Innings India best bowler by Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin both took 1-wickets.

Virat Kohli named Player of the match for his masterclass batting performance to scored a 186 off 364-balls including 15-fours.
