Sandeep Lamichhane's five-for before Aasif Sheikh's record 21-ball fastest fifty and Kushal Bhurtel's blitz helped to Nepal easy nine-wicket victory over PNG and one more step towards to CWC qualifier in a another one-sided game of the 138th match of a Cricket World Cup League 2.

  • Nepal's 9-wickets win was their largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in One-day internationals, previously they won by 8-wickets against USA at same venue in 2020.
  • Nepal chased 96 was their second lowest successful run-chase in One-day international after they chased 36 at same venue in 2020 and It is their lowest chase against PNG in ODIs, previous lowest chase was 135 at Al Amerat in 2021.

Nepal best bowler by Sandeep Lamichhane claimed a 5-wicket haul for 25-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Kushal Malla, Lalit Rajbanshi both took 2-wickets and one for Sompal Kami.

Nepal chased 100-1 in 7.4 overs with top scorer by Aasif Sheikh hammered a unbeaten 53 off 21-balls including 8-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 252.38.

Kushal Bhurtel blasted a 33 off 14-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 235.71 and Kushal Malla 12 not out.

PNG best bowler by Chad Soper took 1-wicket for 30-runs in 2.4-overs.

Sandeep Lamichhane named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to claimed a 5-wicket haul for 25-runs in 10-overs including a maiden.
