Fifties from Kushal Bhurtel, Bhim Sharki, Aarif Sheikh and Gulshan Jha helped to Nepal DLS method 9-run victory over UAE, despite a Asif Khan's maiden 41-ball record century and seal place in ODI World Cup Qualifier in a dying light game of the 140th match of a Cricket World Cup League 2.

  • Arif Khan hammered a 41-ball fastest century for UAE in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 60-ball hundred held by Muhammad Waseem against PNG at same venue in this tournament's last match and the fourth fastest hundred in ODIs.
  • UAE's 310 was their second highest score in One-day international and It is their highest total against Nepal in ODIs, previous highest was 263 at same venue in the last year.
  • 135 : Vriitya Aravind and Asif Khan set up the record sixth-wicket partnership for UAE in One-day international, previously held by the 80-run stand between Shaiman Anwar and Mohammad Boota at ICCA Dubai in 2019 and also the UAE's highest sixth-wicket stand in ODIs, previously jointly 80-run stand held by between (Rameez Shahzad and Adnan Mufti) against West Indies at Harare in 2018 and (Shaiman Anwar and Mohammad Boota) against Nepal at ICCA Dubai in 2019.

UAE scored 310-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Asif Khan hammered a unbeaten 101 off 42-balls - which was 1st ODI hundred.

Vriitya Aravind struck 94 off 138-balls - who fell six-run short of his half-century - including 8-fours & 2-sixes, Muhammad Waseem hammered a 63 off 49-balls including 6-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 128.57 and Rohan Mustafa scored 20 off 32-balls including 3-fours.

Nepal best bowler by Dipendra Singh Airee takes 2-wickets, Lalit Rajbanshi, Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane each took one-wickets.


Nepal scored 269-6 in 44 overs - due to rain DLS par score 260 after 44 overs Nepal were 9 runs ahead the par score when the match was called off by the umpires at 5.37pm local time, the officials having deemed it was too dark to continue.

Nepal top scorer by Bhim Sharki struck 67 off 76-balls including 9-fours, Aarif Sheikh scored 52 off 62-balls included two boundaries.

Kushal Bhurtel blasted a 50 off 35-balls including 4-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 142.85 and Gulshan Jha cracked a unbeaten 50 off 48-balls included 4-fours & 2-sixes.

UAE best bowler by Junaid Siddique picked up 3-wickets, Aayan Afzal Khan took 2-wickets and one for Zahoor Khan.

Asif Khan named Player of the match for his power-hitting batting performance to smashed a career-best unbeaten 101-runs knocked off facing 42-balls including 11-sixes and 4-fours with strike rate of 240.47.
