Sri Lanka scored 277-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Roy Dias struck 102 off 114-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred - including 8-fours.

Sidath Wettimuny struck 74 off 107-balls, Ashantha de Mel scored a unbeaten 28 off 21-balls and Anura Ranasinghe hit 20 off 17-balls.

India best bowler by Roger Binny picked up 3-wickets for 39-runs in 7-overs, Kapil Dev and Madan Lal both took 2-wickets.

India chased 281-4 in 40.5 overs with top scorer by Kris Srikkanth hammered a 95 off 66-balls - who fell five-run short of history century for India.

Sandeep Patil blasted a 64 off 48-balls, Dilip Vengsarkar cracked a 44 off 56-balls and Ashok Malhotra scored a unbeaten 44 off 56-balls.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Ajit de Silva, Bandula Warnapura, Vinothen John and Ravi Ratnayeke each took one-wickets.

Kris Srikkanth named Player of the match for his match-winning career-best scintillating 95-runs knocked off facing 66-balls including 13-fours and a six with strike rate of 143.94.
