Excellent over from Maheesh Theekshana held his nerve and Charith Asalanka chased down 9-run target to Sri Lanka won the Super Over and take 1-0 lead after Ish Sodhi's last-ball six to match-tied against New Zealand in a high-scoring thriller of the first T20I.

Wanindu Hasaranga hammered a unbeaten 21 off 11-balls including 2-sixes with strike rate of 200 and Dhananjaya de Silva hit 15 off 10-balls included one-six & a four with strike rate of 150.

New Zealand best bowler by James Neesham takes 2-wickets, Adam Milne, Benjamin Lister and Debutant Henry Shipley each took one-wickets.

New Zealand scored 196-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Daryl Mitchell hammered a 66 off 44-balls including 5-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 150.

Mark Chapman cracked a 33 off 23-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 143.47, Tom Latham struck 27 off 16-balls included 5-fours with strike-rate of 168.75.

Rachin Ravindra hammered a 26 off 13-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 200 and James Neesham hit 19 off 10-balls included 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 190.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Pramod Madushan each took 2-wickets and one for Maheesh Theekshana  - Dilshan Madushanka.

Charith Asalanka named Player of the match for his quick-fire 67 off 41-balls including 6-sixes and 2-fours with strike rate of 163.41.
