India scored 282-5 in the alloted 47 overs with top scorer by Sunil Gavaskar struck 90 off 117-balls - who fell ten-run short of his century - including 8-fours.

Kapil Dev hammered a 72 off 38-balls, Mohinder Amarnath scored 30 off 34-balls included 2-fours.

Ravi Shastri scored 30 off 56-balls including a boundary, Yashpal Sharma hit 23 off 26-balls included 3-fours and Dilip Vengsarkar 18 not out.

West Indies best bowler by Malcolm Marshall, debutant Winston Davis, Viv Richards and Andy Roberts each took one-wickets.

West Indies scored 255-9 in 47 overs with top scorer by Viv Richards blasted a 64 off 51-balls including 11-fours & a six with strike rate of 125.49.

Jeff Dujon cracked a unbeaten 53 off 64-balls including 3-fours & a six, Faoud Bacchus hit 52 off 65-balls included 3-fours & a six, Larry Gomes 26 and Gordon Greenidge 16.

India best bowler by Ravi Shastri picked up 3-wickets, Kapil Dev, Balwinder Sandhu and Madan Lal each took one-wickets.

Kapil Dev named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took two wickets for 33-runs in 10-overs after smashing a power-hitting batting performance to scored 72 off 38-balls including 7-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 189.47.
