  • India's 170-balls spare win was their second largest victory by terms of balls remaining in One-day international and It is their biggest win against Sri Lanka in ODIs, previous biggest win by 64-balls remaining at Bangalore in 1982.
  • The ten-wicket win is India's second and India's biggest victory by terms of wickets remaining against Sri Lanka in One-day international and It is the first such defeat for Sri Lanka in ODIs.

* Sri Lanka's delight at winning the inaugural opening Cricket Asia Cup match against Pakistan on Friday was short-lived as India trounced them by ten-wickets in the second One-day international game at Sharjah.

* Sri Lanka were bundled out for 96 in 41 of their quota of 50 overs and India cruised home at 97 without loss in 21.4 overs to leave the outcome of the three-match tournament resting on Friday's game.

* India, the One-day World Cup Champions, put Sri Lanka in on a well-grassed pitch and medium pacer Madan Lal (3-11) cut through the middle order, Debutant Manoj Prabhakar took two key wickets and Chetan Sharma (3-22) helped polish off the tail.

* Surinder Khanna (51), and Ghulam Parkar (32) knocked off the runs in 28.6 overs.



Sri Lanka scored 96 for all-out in 41 overs with top scorer by Ranjan Madugale hit 38 off 76-balls including 5-fours, Sidath Wettimuny 12 and Aravinda de Silva 11.

India best bowler by Madan Lal picked up 3-wickets for 11-runs in 8-overs including two maidens, Chetan Sharma takes 3-wickets for 22-runs in 8-overs included a maiden.

Debutant Manoj Prabhakar - who took 2-wickets for 16-runs in 10-overs on his debut ODI match - including three maidens with economy rate of 1.16 and Ravi Shastri took one-wicket for 13-runs in 7-overs included a maiden.

India chased 97 in 21.4 overs with top scorer by Surinder Khanna cracked a unbeaten 51 off 69-balls and Ghulam Parkar hit a unbeaten 32 off 68-balls included 3-fours.

Surinder Khanna named Player of the match for his match-winning brilliant unbeaten 51-runs knocked off facing 69-balls including 6-fours.
