Australian star batting all-rounder Glenn Maxwell produced a one of the greatest ODI innings ever to smashed a record-breaking 201-runs knocked off facing 128-balls including 21-fours and 10-sixes with strike rate of 157.03 helped to Australia successfully chase the target of 292 against Afghanistan in the 39th match of a Cricket World Cup.

* Glenn Maxwell became the first Australian batsman to score a double-hundred in One-day international cricket history and overall the ninth player in ODIs.

* Glenn Maxwell became the third player to score a double-century in the ODI World Cup after Chris Gayle (215) and Martin Guptill (237).

* Glenn Maxwell blasted a 128-ball second fastest double-century in ODIs after Ishan Kishan's 126-ball double-hundred against Bangladesh at Chattogram in the last year.

* Glenn Maxwell hammered a 128-ball fastest double-century ever in the ODI World Cup history, surpassing the previous record of 138-ball century held by Chris Gayle in the 2015 World Cup.

* Glenn Maxwell plundered 201* was the highest score by an Australian batsman in ODI cricket history, surpassing the previous record of unbeaten 185 held by Shane Watson against Bangladesh at Mirpur in 2011.

* Glenn Maxwell became the first batsman to score a double-hundred in an ODI run-chase, previous record of 193 held by Fakhar Zaman against South Africa at Johannesburg in 2021.

* 10 : Glenn Maxwell equalled a joint third most sixes hit in an innings for Australia in One-day international, jointly with Matthew Hayden and the most sixes hit by an Australian batsman in the ODI World Cup history, surpassing the previous record of 9-sixes jointly hit by David Warner and Mitchell Marsh both struck in the same match against Pakistan at Bengaluru earlier in this tournament.
