England best bowler by Phil DeFreitas picked up 3-wickets for 38-runs in 10-overs including three maidens, Debutant Angus Fraser - who took 2-wickets on his debut ODI match, Graham Gooch captured two-wickets and one for David Capel - Eddie Hemmings.

England chased 196-5 in 48.4 overs with top scorer by Robin Smith cracked a unbeaten 81 off 119-balls including 7-fours.

Allan Lamb struck 52 off 66-balls including 3-sixes & 2-fours and Wayne Larkins 19.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Kapila Wijegunawardene, Arjuna Ranatunga both took 2-wickets and one for Graeme Labrooy.

Robin Smith named Player of the match for his match-winning superb unbeaten 81 off 119-balls including 7-fours.
