All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga's record-breaking 7 for 19 and Captain Kusal Mendis' unbeaten half-century gives Sri Lanka easy eight-wicket victory over Zimbabwe and clinch the three-match series with 2-0 in a rain-affected one-sided game of the third & final ODI.

  • Wanindu Hasaranga's 7 for 19 was the second best bowling figures by any bowler in Sri Lanka in One-day international after Chaminda Vaas' 8 for 19 also against Zimbabwe at Colombo (SSC) in 2001 and the best-bowling-figures by any bowler at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 6 for 20 held by Angelo Mathews against India in 2009.
  • Wanindu Hasaranga's 7 for 19 was the second best bowling figures for Sri Lanka in One-day international after Chaminda Vaas' 8 for 19 in 2001 and also the second best-bowling-figures by Sri Lankan bowler against Zimbabwe in ODIs after also the Chaminda Vaas' 8 for 19 in 2001.
  • Zimbabwe's 96 was their sixth lowest score in a completed innings against Sri Lanka in One-day international and It is their third worst-total in Sri Lanka in ODIs.

* This match reduced from 50 to 27-overs per a side due to rain.


Zimbabwe bundled out for 96 in 22.5 overs with top scorer by Joylord Gumbie cracked a 29 off 34-balls including 4-fours.

Takudzwanashe Kaitano scored 17 off 24-balls including a boundary and Luke Jongwe hit 14 off 17-balls included one-six & a four.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Wanindu Hasaranga claimed a career-best 7-wicket haul for 19-runs, Maheesh Theekshana, Janith Liyanage and Dilshan Madushanka each took one-wickets.

Sri Lanka chased 97-2 in 16.4 overs with top scorer by Kusal Mendis blasted a unbeaten 66 off 51-balls including 9-fours & a six with strike rate of 129.41.

Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 14 off 17-balls including a boundary and Debutant Shevon Daniel - who scored 12 off 28-balls on his debut ODI match - included a four.

Wanindu Hasaranga named Player of the match for his record-breaking spin bowling performance to claimed a career-best 7-wicket haul for 19-runs in 5.5-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 3.25.

Janith Liyanage earned player of the series for contributing 119 runs in the three-match series.
