Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis' each both innings centuries sets up to Sri Lanka massive 328-run victory over Bangladesh and take a 1-0 lead in a one-sided game of the first Test match.

  • Sri Lanka's 328-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs in Tets matches after their 465-run win also against Bangladesh at Chattogram in 2009 and also It is their second biggest win against Bangladesh in Tests.
  • Sri Lanka's 280 was their second lowest score in their first innings in a completed innings in against Bangladesh in Test matches after their 222 at Mirpur in 2018.
  • Kamindu Mendis became the 12th Sri Lankan batsman to score a century against Bangladesh in Bangladesh soil in Tests.
  • 202 : Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis set up the record sixth-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in Test matches, previously held by the 199-run stand between Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal at Mirpur in 2022, It is the Sri Lanka's tenth highest any-wicket stand against Bangladesh in Tests and the Sri Lanka's third highest sixth-wicket stand in Tests.

  • Dhananjaya de Silva became the second Sri Lankan batsman to score centuries in both innings at No.6 in an Test match after Tillakaratne Dilshan and overall the third player in Test cricket after Allan Border's (150* & 153 against Pakistan at Lahore in 1980) and Tillakaratne Dilshan's (162 & 143 against Bangladesh at Chattogram in 2009).
  • This is the third Instances of same two players from the same team with both innings hundreds in a Test match - Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis done it for Sri Lanka at Sylhet, The Chappell brothers - Ian Chappell and Greg Campbell scored both innings centuries for Australia against New Zealand at Wellington in 1974 and Azhar Ali and Misbah-ul-Haq did the same for Pakistan against Australia at Abu Dhabi in 2014.
  • There have also been three Test matches where one player from each side team player scored both innings hundreds - Arthur Morris and Denis Compton in Adelaide in 1947, Andrew Jones and Asanka Gurusinha in Hamilton in 1991, and David Warner and Virat Kohli in Adelaide in 2014.
  • 173 : Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis set up the third highest seventh-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in Test matches.

Sri Lanka 1st Innings scored 280 for all-out in 68 overs with top scorer by Kamindu Mendis hammered a 102 off 127-balls - which was his 1st Test hundred - including 11-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 80.31.

Dhananjaya de Silva blasted a 102 off 131-balls - which was his 11th Test hundred and his third century against Bangladesh in Tests - including 12-fours & a six, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 17 off 37-balls included a boundary and Kusal Mendis hit 16 off 26-balls with 2-fours.

Bangladesh best bowler by Khaled Ahmed picked up 3-wickets for 72-runs in 17-overs including two maidens, Nahid Rana captured three-wickets for 87-runs in 14-overs included two maidens, Taijul Islam and Shoriful Islam.

Bangladesh 1st Innings scored 188 for all-out in 51.3 overs with top scorer by Taijul Islam hit 47 off 80-balls including 6-fours.

Litton Das scored 25 off 43-balls including 4-fours, Khaled Ahmed cracked a 22 off 28-balls included 2-sixes & a four, Shahadat Hossain 18 and Shoriful Islam 15.

1st Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Vishwa Fernando claimed a 4-wickets for 48-runs in 15.3-overs including two maidens, Lahiru Kumara picked up 3-wickets for 31-runs in 12-overs included a maiden and Kasun Rajitha captured three-wickets.

Sri Lanka 2nd Innings scored 418 for all-out in 110.4 overs with top scorer by Kamindu Mendis blasted a 164 off 237-balls - which was his 2nd Test hundred and also his second century against Bangladesh in Tests.

Dhananjaya de Silva struck 108 off 179-balls - which was his 12th Test hundred and his fourth century against Bangladesh in Tests - including 9-fours & 2-sixes.

Dimuth Karunaratne scored 52 off 101-balls including 7-fours & a six, Prabath Jayasuriya hit 25 off 47-balls included 4-fours and Angelo Mathews cracked a 22 off 24-balls contained three-fours.

2nd Innings Bangladesh best bowler by Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed a 4-wickets for 74-runs in 29-overs including eight maidens, Taijul Islam, Nahid Rana both took 2-wickets and one for Khaled Ahmed - Shoriful Islam.

Bangladesh 2nd Innings scored 182 for all-out in 49.2 overs with top scorer by Mominul Haque hit a unbeaten 87 off 148-balls including 12-fours & a six.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 33 off 50-balls including 6-fours and Zakir Hasan hit 19 off 22-balls included 2-fours.

2nd Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Kasun Rajitha claimed a 5-wicket haul for 56-runs in 14-overs including a maiden, Vishwa Fernando picked up 3-wickets and Lahiru Kumara took 2-wickets.
