All-rounder Charles Amini's career-best 53-ball 91* with three-wicket haul and Lega Siaka's quick-fire half-century gives Papua New Guinea's record 77-run victory over Malaysia and take a 1-0 lead in a one-sided game of the first T20I.

  • PNG's 77-run win was their sixth largest victory by terms of runs in T20 international and It is their biggest win against Malaysia in T20Is, previous biggest win by 45-runs at same venue in the last year.
  • PNG's 206 was their joint third highest score in T20 international and It is their highest total against Malaysia in T20Is, previous highest was 199 at Kirtipur in 2022.
  • Charles Amini's unbeaten 91 was the fourth highest score for PNG in T20 international and the highest-score by an PNG batsman against Malaysia in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of unbeaten 86 held by Tony Ura at Kirtipur in 2022.

PNG scored mammoth total of 206-3 in 20 overs with top scorer by Charles Amini hammered a career-best unbeaten 91 off 53-balls.

Lega Siaka struck 55 off 35-balls including 6-fours & a six with strike rate of  157.14, Sese Bau hit 28 off 17-balls included 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 164.70 and Tony Ura scored 18 off 14-balls contained three-fours.

Malaysia best bowler by Virandeep Singh, Vijay Unni and Syed Aziz each took one-wickets.

Malaysia scored 129-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Ahmad Faiz hit 36 off 29-balls including 6-fours.

Virandeep Singh cracked a 32 off 26-balls including 4-fours & a six and Ahmed Aqeel scored 16 off 14-balls included one-six & a four.

PNG best bowler by Norman Vanua, Jack Gardner both took 2-wickets and one for Sese Bau - John Kariko.

Charles Amini named Player of the match for his scintillating batting performance to smashed a career-best unbeaten 91 off 53-balls including 8-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 171.69.
