Saleem Malik became the first Pakistan batsman to scored three hundreds against Sri Lanka in ODIs. The only other such instance came against Sri Lanka at Adelaide in 1989-90 Benson & Hedges World Series.

Pakistan scored 271-4 in the allotted 40 overs with top scorer by Inzamam-ul-Haq cracked a career-best 117 off 103-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred and also his second century against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Saleem Malik struck 102 off 108-balls - which was his 5th ODI hundred and his third century against Sri Lanka in ODIs - including five boundaries.

Javed Miandad scored 19 off 13-balls including 2-sixes with strike rate of 146.15 and Wasim Akram blasted a unbeaten 16 off 6-balls contained one-six & a four with strike-rate of 266.66.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Champaka Ramanayake took 2-wickets and one for Kapila Wijegunawardene.

Inzamam-ul-Haq named Player of the match for his brilliant superb batting performance to scored a career-best unbeaten 117 off facing 103-balls including 13-fours with strike rate of 113.59.

Dozens of people were injured when police clashed with angry cricket fans on Sunday as Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in the fifth one-day international.

Hundreds of ticket-holders were locked out of the stadium; non-holders had been allowed in.

They began hurling stones and police fired tear-gas to disperse them. The match was held up briefly when fumes spread; traffic around the ground was blocked for hours.

Several people burned stadium seats. Pakistan won the match by 117 runs to take the five-match series 4-1. Sri Lanka made only 154 runs in reply to Pakistan's 271.
