Jos Buttler's blazing 59-balls 96 and Jamie Smith's 20-ball 38 before Liam Dawson's career-best four-for and Jacob Bethell's two key wickets helped to England comfortable 21-run victory over West Indies and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

England's 188 was their eighth highest score against West Indies in T20 international and It is their second highest total at Chester-le-Street in T20Is after their 195 against Australia in 2013. West Indies' 167 was their sixth highest score against England in England soil in T20Is.

England scored 188-6 in 20 overs with top scorer by Jos Buttler hammered a 96 off 59-balls - who fell four-run short of his century - including 6-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 162.71.

Jamie Smith blasted a 38 off 20-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 190 and Jacob Bethell scored a run-a-ball unbeaten 23-runs included a six.

West Indies best bowler by Romario Shepherd captured two-wickets, Roston Chase, Andre Russell and Alzarri Joseph each took one-wickets.

West Indies scored 167-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Evin Lewis hammered a 39 off 23-balls including 3-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 169.56.

Roston Chase cracked a 24 off 20-balls including 2-fours & a six, Johnson Charles hit 18 off 15-balls included two-fours & a six, Romario Shepherd struck 16 off 12-balls including 2-fours.

Jason Holder hit a unbeaten 16 off 13-balls contained 2-fours and Andre Russell scored 15 off 13-balls included a six.

England best bowler by Liam Dawson 4-20, Jacob Bethell, Matthew Potts both took 2-wickets and one for Adil Rashid.

Liam Dawson named Player of the match for his excellent spin bowling performance to claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 20-runs in 4-overs.
