Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Brydon Carse, Chris Woakes, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer stars as England pulled off a dramatic win against India by 22-runs and take a 2-1 lead in a see-saw game of the third Test match.

  • England's 387 was their 11th highest score against India at Lord's in Test matches.

  • Jasprit Bumrah's 47* wickets was the second most wickets by an Indian bowler in England in Tests after Ishant Sharma's 51 wickets.
  • 11 : Joe Root equalled a joint most centuries hit by any batsman against India in Tests, jointly with Steve Smith.

  • KL Rahul scored 11th fifty-plus as opener in SENA countries in Test matches - The third most fifty-plus scored by an Asian opener in SENA countries in Test cricket after Sunil Gavaskar's (19) and Dimuth Karunaratne's (12).
  • India finished first-innings level with England's 1st innings total of 387 - This is the third instance of India finished first-innings tie in Tests. Previous two such instances came against West Indies' 222 at Kanpur in 1958 and against England's 390 at Birmingham in 1986.
  • KL Rahul became the second Indian batsman to scored two centuries at Lord's in Tests after Dilip Vengsarkar's 3-hundreds.

England 1st Innings scored 387 for all-out in 112.3 overs with top scorer by Joe Root cracked a 104 off 199-balls - which was his 37th Test hundred and his 11th century against India in Tests - including 10-fours.

Brydon Carse blasted a 56 off 83-balls including 6-fours & a six with strike rate of 67.46, Jamie Smith hammered a 51 off 56-balls included six-fours with strike rate of 91.07.


Ollie Pope scored 44 off 104-balls including 4-fours, Ben Stokes hit 44 off 110-balls included four-fours.

Ben Duckett struck 23 off 40-balls including three boundaries and Zak Crawley scored 18 off 43-balls included 4-fours.

1st Innings India best bowler by Jasprit Bumrah claimed a 5-wicket haul for 74-runs in 27-overs including five maidens, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Siraj both took 2-wickets and one for Ravindra Jadeja.

India 1st Innings scored 387 for all-out in 119.2 overs with top scorer by KL Rahul cracked a 100 off 177-balls - which was his 10th Test hundred and his fifth century against England in Testa - including 13-fours.

Rishabh Pant struck 74 off 112-balls including 8-fours & 2-sixes, Ravindra Jadeja cracked a 72 off 131-balls included 8-fours & a six.


Karun Nair struck 40 off 62-balls including 4-fours, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 30 off 91-balls included 4-fours, Washington Sundar hit 23 off 76-balls contained one-six & a four.

Rishabh Pant hit a unbeaten 19 off 33-balls included 3-fours, Shubman Gill scored 16 off 44-balls contained two boundaries and Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 13 off 8-balls including 3-fours with strike rate of 162.50.

1st Innings England best bowler by Chris Woakes picked up 3-wickets, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes both took 2-wickets and one for Shoaib Bashir - Brydon Carse.

England 2nd Innings scored 192 for all-out in 62.1 overs with top scorer by Joe Root scored 40 off 96-balls including a boundary.

Ben Stokes cracked a 33 off 96-balls including three boundaries, Harry Brook hammered a 23 off 19-balls included 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 121.05 and Zak Crawley struck 22 off 49-balls contained 3-fours.

2nd Innings India best bowler by Washington Sundar claimed a 4-wickets for 22-runs in 12.1-overs including two maidens.

Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah both took 2-wickets and one for Nitish Kumar Reddy and Akash Deep.

India 2nd Innings scored 170 for all-out in 74.5 overs with top scorer by Ravindra Jadeja cracked a unbeaten 61 off 181-balls including 4-fours & a six.

KL Rahul struck 39 off 58-balls including 6-fours with strike rate of 67.24, Karun Nair hit 14 off 33-balls included a boundary and Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 13 off 53-balls contained a four.

2nd Innings England best bowler by Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer both picked up 3-wickets, Brydon Carse took 2-wickets and one for Shoaib Bashir - Chris Woakes.

Ben Stokes named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took five-wickets and contributed 77 runs in an match.
