Magnificent Matthew Breetzke's record fourth consecutive fifty-plus scores and Tristan Stubbs' half-century before Nandre Burger's two key wickets and Lungi Ngidi's five-for gives South Africa thumping 84-run victory over Australia, despite a fightback from Josh Inglis' 87 and took an unassailable 2-0 lead to seal the series in the second ODI.

  • The Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay stadium was hosting its first men's ODI in 33 years, MacKay's first international match was washed out due to torrential rain flooded the ground after two balls of the match between India and Sri Lanka in the 1992 Benson & Hedges World Cup.
  • Matthew Breetzke became the first batsman to scored fifties in his first four ODI matches. Navjot Sidhu also did in his first four innings, but he didn't bat in one game among his five ODI matches.
  • South Africa's 277 was their sixth highest score against Australia in Australian soil in One-day internationals.

South Africa scored 277 for all-out in 49.1 overs with top scorer by Matthew Breetzke blasted a 88 off 78-balls including 8-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 112.82.

Tristan Stubbs cracked a 74 off 87-balls including 3-fours & a six, Tony de Zorzi struck 38 off 39-balls included 5-fours.

Wiaan Mulder hit 26 off 21-balls including 4-fours with strike rate of 123.80 and Keshav Maharaj scored a unbeaten 22 off 24-balls contained 2-fours & a six.

Australia best bowler by Adam Zampa picked up 3-wickets, Marnus Labuschagne, Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis each took 2-wickets and one for Josh Hazlewood.

Australia bowled out for 193 in 37.4 overs with top scorer by Josh Inglis blasted a 87 off 74-balls including 10-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 117.56.

Cameron Green cracked a 35 off 54-balls including 3-fours, Mitchell Marsh struck 18 off 25-balls included 4-fours and Alex Carey scored 13 off 20-balls contained a boundary.

South Africa best bowler by Lungi Ngidi 5-42, Nandre Burger, Senuran Muthusamy both took 2-wickets and one for Wiaan Mulder.

Lungi Ngidi named Player of the match for his pace bowling attack to claimed a 5-wicket haul for 42-runs in 8.4-overs including a maiden.
