Sachin Tendulkar returned to form with a vengeance, plundering a century, Manoj Prabhakar's half-century and Mohammad Azharuddin's quick-fire 47* steered India to a seven-wicket victory over New Zealand, despite a brilliant maiden hundred by Ken Rutherford in the third match of a Wills World Series.

  • Ken Rutherford became the eighth New Zealand batsman to score a hundred in One-day internationals.
  • Ken Rutherford became the third New Zealand batsman to score a century against India in ODIs after Glenn Turner and Martin Crowe.
  • Sachin Tendulkar became the sixth Indian batsman to scored two centuries in ODIs.
  • Sachin Tendulkar became the fourth Indian batsman to score a century against New Zealand in ODIs after Sunil Gavaskar, Mohinder Amarnath and Mohammad Azharuddin.

New Zealand scored 269-4 in 50 overs with top scorer by Ken Rutherford struck 108 off 102-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred - including 13-fours.

Adam Parore cracked a 96 off 138-balls - who fell four-run short of his century - without a boundary and Stephen Fleming blasted a 33 off 25-balls contained one-six & four with strike rate of 132.

India best bowler by Manoj Prabhakar captured two-wickets and one for Javagal Srinath.

India chase down the target of 270, finishing at 271 for 3 in 48.1 overs with top scorer by Sachin Tendulkar struck 115 off 136-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred and his first century against New Zealand in ODIs.

Manoj Prabhakar struck 74 off 95-balls including 7-fours, Mohammad Azharuddin blasted a unbeaten 47 off 39-balls including 5-fours with strike rate of 120.51 and Vinod Kambli hit a unbeaten 12 off 6-balls contained 2-fours with strike rate of 200.

New Zealand best bowler by Matthew Hart captured 2-wickets for 56-runs in 10-overs.

Sachin Tendulkar named Player of the match for his match-winning career-best superb 115-runs knocked off facing 136-balls including 9-fours & 3-sixes.
