INDIA climaxed a resurgent home season with a crushing eight-wicket win over Zimbabwe in the third and final one-day international in Pune, India.
Vinod Kambli drove medium-pacer David Brain to the cover fence to take India past the 235-run target in 50 overs with 27 balls to spare and complete a 3-0 whitewash over the babes of cricket.
The 20-year-old left-hander, who played a vital role in fashioning a remarkable turnaround in In- dia's cricket fortunes after a terrible South African tour, compiled an unusually sedate 47 not out.
He was content to play second fiddle to Ajay Sharma, unbeaten on a superb 59 off 53 balls which gave timely momentum to India's run chase at the overflowing Nehru stadium.
India also beat Zimbabwe in a one-off test before travelling to Pune.
