This is the second time India have whitewashed their oppositions in a bilateral three-match series in One-day international, It is first their 3-0 bilateral series clean sweep against Zimbabwe in ODIs and It is their fourth series whitewash in ODIs (minimum 3 or more matches). This is the first time Zimbabwe have suffered a clean sweep in a bilateral three-match series in One-day internationals.

Zimbabwe bowled out for 234 in 49.5 overs with top scorer by Grant Flower struck 50 off 86-balls including 5-fours.

Dave Houghton hit 46 off 57-balls including 3-fours, Andy Flower struck 32 off 36-balls included 5-fours.

Alistair Campbell cracked a 22 off 39-balls including a boundary and Gavin Briant scored 16 off 27-balls included a four.

India best bowler by Kapil Dev picked up 3-wickets, Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble both took 2-wickets.

India chase down the target of 235, finishing at 238 for 2 in 45.3 overs with top scorer by Woorkeri Raman cracked a 66 off 86-balls including 7-fours & 2-sixes.

Ajay Sharma hit a unbeaten 59 off 55-balls including 8-fours, Vinod Kambli cracked a unbeaten 47 off 62-balls and Navjot Sidhu struck 45 off 74-balls contained five-fours.

Zimbabwe best bowler by John Traicos took one-wicket for 50-runs in 10-overs.

Vinod Kambli named Player of the match for his match-winning unbeaten 47 off 62-balls including 5-fours.

INDIA climaxed a resurgent home season with a crushing eight-wicket win over Zimbabwe in the third and final one-day international in Pune, India.

Vinod Kambli drove medium-pacer David Brain to the cover fence to take India past the 235-run target in 50 overs with 27 balls to spare and complete a 3-0 whitewash over the babes of cricket.

The 20-year-old left-hander, who played a vital role in fashioning a remarkable turnaround in In- dia's cricket fortunes after a terrible South African tour, compiled an unusually sedate 47 not out.

He was content to play second fiddle to Ajay Sharma, unbeaten on a superb 59 off 53 balls which gave timely momentum to India's run chase at the overflowing Nehru stadium.

India also beat Zimbabwe in a one-off test before travelling to Pune.
