Mark Taylor's brilliant 97 and Mark Waugh's classy 74 before Paul Reiffel and Glenn McGrath's combined 5-wickets helped to Australia comfortable 27-run victory over New Zealand, despite Mark Greatbatch - Stephen Fleming's half-centuries and Australia enter into the final in the fourth match of a New Zealand Centenary Tournament.


Australia scored 254-5 in 50 overs with top scorer by Mark Taylor struck 97 off 128-balls - who fell three-run short of his century - including 8-fours.

Mark Waugh struck 74 off 97-balls including 4-fours and David Boom hit 44 off 42-balls included 3-fours.

New Zealand best bowler by Chris Pringle captured two-wickets, Danny Morrison, Justin Vaughan and Shane Thomson each took one-wickets.

New Zealand scored 227-9 in the allotted 50 overs with top scorer by Mark Greatbatch struck 74 off 93-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours.

Stephen Fleming struck 53 off 71-balls including 7-fours, Adam Parore scored a unbeaten 27 off 44-balls included a boundary and Chris Cairns hit 22 off 26-balls contained 2-fours.

Australia best bowler by Paul Reiffel picked up 3-wickets for 35-runs in 10-overs including four maidens with economy rate of 3.50, Glenn McGrath took 2-wickets and one for Shane Warne - Tim May.

Mark Taylor named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a 97 off facing 128-balls including 8-fours.
