Sri Lanka scored 250-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Asanka Gurusinha cracked a 108 off 149-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred and also his second century against New Zealand in ODIs.

Sanath Jayasuriya struck 49 off 63-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century, Arjuna Ranatunga cracked a 39 off 50-balls included 2-fours and Hashan Tillakaratne hit 16 off 11-balls contained one-six & a four with strike rate of 145.45.

New Zealand best bowler by Dipak Patel, Chris Cairns and Chris Pringle each took 2-wickets.

New Zealand bowled out for 199 in 46.3 overs with top scorer by Mark Greatbatch struck 43 off 53-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours.

Nathan Astle cracked a 35 off 61-balls including a boundary, Ken Rutherford scored 30 off 59-balls included a four, Adam Parore hit 19 off 21-balls contained 2-fours, Stephen Fleming 18 and Chris Cairns 15.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Sanath Jayasuriya picked up 3-wickets for 35-runs in 10-overs with economy rate of 3.50, Ruwan Kalpage captured three-wickets, Aravinda de Silva, Janak Gamage and Muttiah Muralitharan each took one-wickets.
