[ Heavy rain washed out the opening game of the three-nation Singer Cup One-day international between Pakistan and World Cup champions Sri Lanka at The Padang, Singapore on April 01, 1996.

The game called to a halt with Pakistan on 54-3 in 10 overs with top scorer by Aamer Sohail scored 22 off 21-balls, Inzamam-ul-Haq hit 15 off 11-balls included 2-fours, Saleem Malik and Ijaz Ahmed remained not out on 6.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Chaminda Vaas captured 2-wickets for 11-runs in 3-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 3.66 and Arjuna Ranatunga took one-wicket.

Sri Lanka scored massive total of 349-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Sanath Jayasuriya hammered a career-best 134 off 65-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred and his first century against Pakistan in ODIs.

Kumar Dharmasena struck 51 off 50-balls including 4-fours, Roshan Mahanama scored 35 off 52-balls included a boundary, Asanka Gurusinha cracked a 29 off 56-balls contained 3-fours.

Hashan Tillakaratne scored 25 off 40-balls including a boundary and Romesh Kaluwitharana hammered a 24 off 10-balls contained 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 240.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Chaminda Vaas, Kumar Dharmasena, Muttiah Muralitharan each took 2-wickets, Hashan Tillakaratne, Aravinda de Silva and Sanath Jayasuriya each took one-wickets.

Sanath Jayasuriya named Player of the match for his record-breaking batting performance to smashed a whirlwind 134-runs knocked off facing 65-balls including 11-sixes & 11-fours with strike rate of 206.15.
