Four India players were hit by stones thrown from the crowd during one-day international against Pakistan in Karachi. The violence prompted India's captain Sachin Tendulkar to lead his players from the field.
Tendulkar refused to continue when Debasish Mohanty became the fourth player to be struck while fielding on the boundary. India declined to take fielding, citing security fears.
"I am more concerned about the security of my players; I can't continue under these circumstances," Tendulkar told the Sri Lankan match referee Ranjan Madugalle.
Madugalle agreed to halt play, curtailing Pakistan's innings at 265 for four after 47.2 overs.
