In-Depth Match Highlights:

* New Zealand suffered a four-wicket defeat against Pakistan in the Singer Champions Trophy, a result which meant both New Zealand and Sri Lanka finished with three points from four matches, Pakistan topped the table with six points.

* It was initially agreed that run rate should decide it, which would have meant a place in the final for world champions Sri Lanka.

But New Zealand team officials said they should go through to the final, because they had performed better in the league stage against Sri Lanka.

The Kiwis were eventually given the place in Friday's final. 

New Zealand bowled out for 192 in exact 50 overs with top scorer by Adam Parore cracked a 78 off 123-balls including 3-fours.

Lee Germon scored 52 off 118-balls including a boundary and Chris Cairns hit 18 off 15-balls contained 2-fours.

Pakistan best bowler by Waqar Younis 6-44, Shahid Nazir captured two-wickets and one for Saqlain Mushtaq.

Pakistan chase down the target of 193, finishing at 196 for 6 in 48.3 overs with top scorer by Saeed Anwar hammered a 54 off 37-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 145.94.

Saleem Malik cracked a 41 off 62-balls including 3-fours, Moin Khan scored a unbeaten 37 off 77-balls without a boundary.

Aamer Sohail struck 25 off 64-balls including one-six & a four and Ijaz Ahmed hit 16 off 28-balls contained 2-sixes.

New Zealand best bowler by Chris Cairns picked up 3-wickets for 18-runs in 10-overs including two maidens with economy rate of 1.80, Chris Harris, Nathan Astle and Danny Morrison each took one-wickets.

Waqar Younis named Player of the match for his pace bowling attack to claimed a 6-wickets for 44-runs in 10-overs including a maiden.
