Pakistan's first ever ODI winning match in World Cup

Prudential World Cup tournament Group B 12th match first time Pakistan facing the Sri Lanka and winning the their first ever one-day international match in World Cup at Nottingham in 14th June 1975 - Pakistan won by 192 runs.

Sri Lanka skipper Anura Tennekoon won the toss invited Pakistan into the bat first their openers Sadiq Mohammad and Pakistan skipper Majid Khan build the attacking 159-run stand for opening partnership.

Sadiq Mohammad was caught out by Opatha off Warnapura at scoring of 74 off 88 deliveries including 12 fours and one 6s, Majid Khan played stunning innings of 84 off 93 deliveries with 9 boundaries.

After Majid Khan exit, Zaheer Abbas polish the innings and showed the performance and unluckily to miss the his hundred by three runs, he was bowled out at 97 helped to Pakistan set the their highest ODI total of 330 for 6 in the allotted 60 overs.

While Sri Lanka chasing they lost their opener Bandula Warnapura at the scoreboard of 5 runs, then Ranjith Fernando (21) caught and bowl by Javed Miandad.

Sri Lanka batting line-up never comeback in this game, their team failed to chase except their Skipper Anura Tennekoon was showed some display of 30 and Somachandra De Silva was added little run of 26.

Pakistan's strong pace bowling attack to Sri Lanka entire team collapses at 138 in the 50.1 overs.

Pakistan's seam bowler Imran Khan took 3 wickets, Javed Miandad and Sadiq Mohammad both took two wickets - with single wickets taken by Naseer Malik, Wasim Raja and Pervez Mir.

Zaheer Abbas was earned the Player of the Match with his Magnificent 97 off facing 89-balls included 10 fours and one six.
