Masterclass Virat Kohli's 40th ODI century, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah's combined 5-wickets before Vijay Shankar took final two wickets off last-over of the match as India narrow 8-run victory over Australia and registered their historic 500th one-day international win to take a 2-0 lead in a see-saw game of the second ODI.

  • India became the second team to win the 500 ODI matches after Australia's 558 victories.
  • India's 8-run win was their joint second smallest victory by terms of runs against Australia in One-day internationals.
  • Virat Kohli became the second batsman to scored 40 centuries in ODIs after Sachin Tendulkar's 49-hundreds.
  • 7 : Virat Kohli equalled a joint second most centuries hit by an Indian batsman against Australia in ODIs, jointly with Rohit Sharma.

India scored 250 for all-out in 48.2 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli struck 116 off 120-balls - which was his 40th ODI hundred and his seventh century against Australia in ODIs.

 Vijay Shankar struck 46 off 41-balls including 5-fours & a six, Shikhar Dhawan hit 21 off 29-balls included 4-fours, Ravindra Jadeja scored 21 off 40-balls without a boundary and Ambati Rayudu 18.

Australia best bowler by Pat Cummins claimed a 4-wickets for 29-runs in 9-overs including two maidens with economy rate of 3.22, Adam Zampa captured two-wickets, Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell and Nathan Coulter-Nile each took one wickets.

Australia scored 242 for all-out in 49.3 overs with top scorer by Marcus Stoinis struck 52 off 65-balls including 4-fours & a six.

Peter Handscomb hit 48 off 59-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century - including 4-fours, Usman Khawaja cracked a 38 off 37-balls included 6-fours.

Aaron Finch scored 37 off 53-balls including 5-fours & a six and Alex Carey hit 22 off 24-balls included 2-fours.

India best bowler by Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3-wickets for 54-runs, Vijay Shankar 2-15, Jasprit Bumrah 2-29, Ravindra Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav each took one wickets.

Virat Kohli named Player of the match for his brilliance knock of 116-runs off faced 120 deliveries including ten fours.
