Yuzvendra Chahal's record-equal six-for before An unbeaten half-centuries from MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav steers to India hard-fought seven-wicket victory over Australia and clinch the three-match series with 2-1 in a tight-game of the third ODI.

Yuzvendra Chahal's 6 for 42 was his best bowling performance for India in One-day international, it is the joint best bowling figures by an Indian bowler against Australia in ODIs, jointly 6 for 42 held by Ajit Agarkar at same venue in 2004 and also the joint best figures by an Indian bowler in Australia in ODIs. Yuzvendra Chahal became the first Indian spinner to take 6-wickets in Australia in One-day international cricket history. Yuzvendra Chahal's 6 for 42 was the best bowling figures by an Indian spinner against Australia in One-day internationals, surpassing the previous record of 5 for 15 held by Ravi Shastri at Perth in 1991 and also the best figures by an Indian spinner in Australia in ODIs. 121* : MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav set up the seventh highest fourth-wicket partnership for India against Australia in One-day internationals. Australia's 230 was their fifth lowest score in the completed innings against India at MCG in One-day internationals.

Australia scored 230 for all-out in 48.4 overs with top scorer by Peter Handscomb 58, Shaun Marsh 39, Usman Khawaja 34, Glenn Maxwell 26, Jhye Richardson 16 and Aaron Finch 14.

India best bowler by Yuzvendra Chahal 6-42, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami both took 2-wickets.

India chased 234-3 in 49.2 overs with top scorer by MS Dhoni 87 not out, who scoring the concesutive third half-century in the series including six boundaries, Kedar Jadhav 61 not out, Virat Kohli 46 and Shikhar Dhawan 23.

Australia best bowler by Jhye Richardson, Peter Siddle and Marcus Stoinis each took one-wickets.

Yuzvendra Chahal named Player of the match for his remarkable spin bowling performance to claimed a career-best 6-wicket-haul for 42-runs in 10-overs.

MS Dhoni earned player of the series for contributing 198-runs including three consecutive fifties in the three-match ODI series.
