Ross Taylor's record-equal century, Tom Latham's well-made half-century and Mitchell Santner's assault helped to New Zealand thrilling three-wicket victory over England and take a 1-0 lead in a tight-game of the first ODI.

  • 4 : Ross Taylor equalled a joint fourth most centuries hit by any batsman against England in One-day internationals, jointly with 4-hundreds by Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara and Yuvraj Singh.
  • 178 : Ross Taylor and Tom Latham set up the record fourth-wicket partnership for New Zealand against England in One-day international, previously held by the unbeaten 118-run stand between Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum at Southampton in 2013 and New Zealand's fourth highest fourth-wicket stand in ODIs.

England scored 284-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Jos Buttler blasted a 79 off 65-balls including 5-sixes & 5-fours with strike rate of 121.54.

Joe Root struck 71 off 75-balls including 5-fours & a six, Jason Roy 49 off 66-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century - included 5-fours & a six and Moeen Ali hit 28 off 26-balls with 4-fours & a six.

New Zealand best bowler by Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi and Trent Boult each took 2-wickets and one for Colin Munro.

New Zealand chased 287-7 in 49.2 overs with top scorer by Ross Taylor 113 - which was his 18th ODI hundred and his fourth century against England in ODIs.

Tom Latham struck 79 off 84-balls including 6-fours, Mitchell Santner hammered a unbeaten 45 off 27-balls including 4-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 166.67.

England best bowler by Ben Stokes - Chris Woakes each took 2-wickets, David Willey, Adil Rashid and Tom Curran each took one wickets.

Ross Taylor named Player of the match for his match-winning masterclass 113-runs knocked off facing 116-balls including 12-fours.
