Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla's record-breaking centuries powers to South Africa thumping 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh, despite a historic century from Mushfiqur Rahim and take a 1-0 lead in a one-sided game of the first ODI.

  • South Africa's 10-wicket win was their joint largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in One-day international, it is their 7th time win by ten wickets and 3rd time South Africa had defeated Bangladesh by ten wickets in ODIs.
  • Quinton de Kock's 168* was his second highest score for South Africa in One-day international and the highest-score by an South African batsman against Bangladesh in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 153 held by Hashim Amla at Potchefstroom in 2002.
  • Quinton de Kock and Hashim became South Africa's all-time best opening pair, Previous record was Herchell Gibbs and Graeme Smith (3607-runs) period between 2002-2009 in ODIs.

  • Mushfiqur Rahim became the first Bangladesh batsman to score a hundred against South Africa in One-day international cricket history.
  • Quinton de Kock became the fourth South African batsman to score a hundred against Bangladesh in One-day internationals after Herschelle Gibbs, Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla.
  • 83 Innings : Hashim Amla fastest to read 13 centuries in One-day internationals, beating Virat Kohli and Quinton de Kock's record,  both took 86 innings.

Bangladesh scored 278-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Mushfiqur Rahim 110 not out off 116-balls  - which was his 5th ODI hundred & his first century against South Africa in ODIs - including 11-fours & 2-sixes.

Imrul Kayes scored 31 off 43-balls including 4-fours & a six, Shakib Al Hasan hit 29 off 45-balls included 2-fours.

Mahmudullah scored 26 off 27-balls including 3-fours & a six, Liton Das hit 21 off 29-balls included 4-fours, Sabbir Rahman 19 and Mohammad Saifuddin 16.

South Africa best bowler by Kagiso Rabada claimed a four-wicket haul for 43-runs in 10-overs, Dwaine Pretorius took two-wickets and one for Imran Tahir.

South Africa chased 282-0 in 42.5 overs with top scorer by Quinton de Kock 168 not out - which was his 13th ODI hundred and his first century against Bangladesh in ODIs.

Hashim Amla struck 110 not out off 112-balls - which was his his 26th ODI hundred and his second century against Bangladesh in ODIs - including eight boundaries.

Quinton de Kock named Player of the match for his match-winning magnificent unbeaten 168-runs knocked off facing 145-balls including 21-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 115.86.
